Notice of Race

Rules

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2004 - 2008, US Sailing Prescriptions, and the Regatta Sailing Instructions.

Eligibility and Entry

The regatta is open to all boats of the Y Flyer class. Membership in a Y Flyer national organization is not required. See the following fees schedule for early and late registrations.

Gold, Challenger, And Junior Fleets

The regatta will consist of a Gold fleet, a Challenger fleet, and a Junior fleet. Boats must register for one fleet, except that a boat may register for both the Junior fleet and one of the Gold or Challenger fleets. Boats may not switch fleets after completing registration. The Gold and Challenger fleets will race on the same course, and will start at the same times. Challenger fleet warnings will follow the Gold fleet starts when the starting area is clear.

Fees

Pre-registration fee, prior to 10/01/08 for US Sailing member $90
Late registration fee, post 10/01/08 for US Sailing member $95
Pre-registration fee for non US Sailing member $95
Late registration fee for non US Sailing member $100

Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions will be available at registration

The Courses
The diagrams in Attachment 1 show the courses, the order in which marks are to be passed, and the side on which each mark is to be left.

Scoring
Scoring will be in accordance with the Y Flyer Association rules.

Prizes
Trophies will be given as follows:
Fleet - Skipper trophies \ Crew trophies
Gold - 5 \ 5, Challenger - 3 \ 3, Junior - 3 \ 3
The Race Committee may award additional trophies as it sees fit.

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. Participants are strongly recommended to wear a US Coast Guard Approved Life Jacket.

Courses

Notes:

1. For courses 'MWG', 'MW', and 'MO', a number posted after the course indicates how many laps are to be sailed.

2. For courses 'W', 'T', 'O' and 'WG', Mark '1' has no required side when finishing.

3. Actual angle between legs may vary depending on wind direction and available space in the racing area.
