Notice Of Race

1. Rules

  • 1.1 The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

  • 1.2 The Championship Rules and Regulations for the AYC Junior Championship will apply.
  • 2. Eligibility

  • 2.1 Any Junior whose parent or grandparent is Member of the Club shall be eligible to compete.

  • 2.2 Juniors are eligible up to and including the year they either reach their eighteenth birthday or graduate from high school, whichever is later.

  • 2.3 The minimum age for competition in the Championship is twelve years old, or turning twelve during the year of the event.
  • 3. Class

    Competitors will sail Lasers. Competitors must provide their own boats, but they may be owned or borrowed.

    Skippers' Meeting At The R.C. Barge (dock)


    9:30am


    30 Minute Signal


    10:00am


    Warning Signal For First Start, Second Race To Follow, Conditions Permitting


    Lunch Break
    (as time permits)


    Lunch will be provided for competitors




    Racing To Follow After 30 Min Signal


    4:30pm


    No Warning Signal will be made after this time



    5. Registration - All entrants should contact Jim Roberts by email or telephone 770-917-0059 by --- to register.

    6. Sailing Instructions - Sailing Instructions will be the Atlanta Yacht Club Sailing Instructions modified only for time of start. Modified Sailing Instructions will be posted on the Atlanta Yacht Club Official Bulletin Board and will be available at the skipper's meeting.

    7. Scoring - Appendix A Low Point System will be used. Excepting all races will be scored and will count.

    8. Prizes - Trophies will be awarded to the skippers of the top three finishing yachts at the annual awards banquet.

    9. Safety

  • 9.1 All participants will wear US Coast Guard approved PFDs while onboard and away from the dock.
