Thursday, July 2Ease into your holiday weekend with a tried & true game and a movie on the lawn

8:00pm B-I-N-G-O at the clubhouse* COMPETITION #1

9:30pm MOVIE on the Lawn between clubhouse and play yard

Friday, July 3 – In the AM, come help the kid-o’s prepare for Saturday’s events; in the PM, race around the cove in the Poker Run, fill your belly with a delicious BBQ dinner and then head off to the fireworks or stick around for games

11:00am Prep your POLE for Mitzi’s fishing contest & Decorate your BIKES / Scooters / Unicycles / Skateboards / Wagons for the PARADE on Saturday - at the POINT

1:30pm POKER RUN in the Cove* (non-motorized boats only) COMPETITION #2

6:00pm Dinner at the Clubhouse, catered by Susan Smith – BBQ Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, Baked Beans, Salads

8:00pm Dessert at the Point

Following dessert:  More Fun & Games at the Point OR Go by boat to see the Fireworks at Allatoona Yacht Club (fireworks at nightfall ~9:30pm)

Saturday, July 4Begin your day with Mitzi’s fishing contest, cool off at the waterslide, picnic at the beach and compete in a variety of games, pay tribute to our fine country, enjoy the fish fry and dance the night away

8:30am Mitzi’s Fishing Contest, MOTORBOAT DOCK #3 – until the bait runs out…

10:30am Waterslide at the Beach Opens

12:00pm Picnic at the BEACH – bring your own picnic.  A cool & refreshing DESSERT will be provided

1:30 Fun & Games at the BEACH:  MINUTE to WIN IT Games; Beach Games & Sandcastle Building Contests* - COMPETITION #3

5:15 Salute to our fine country & 4th of July PARADE – starts at the Flagpole; 

Happy Hour, Kids Dinner & Kids Club** to follow

For kids 6 and up who are interested, go to the Viewing Pavilion at 6pm and learn FUN group dances with a Professional Dance Instructor, and then at 8pm, help kick off the club wide dance lessons!

6:30 FISH FRY at the Clubhouse 

8:00 Put on your Dancing Shoes and learn a few GROUP dances with a Professional Dance Instructor, then dance the night away!!!

Sunday, July 5 – Wind down the weekend at the clubhouse and find out what team holds the title of CHAMPION!

9:30 Church at the clubhouse

10:30 Potluck BRUNCH at the Clubhouse, bring a dish to share

12:00 Final “Fun & Games” * - COMPETITION #4, followed by awards ceremony

* Denote events which will be scored.  You must be part of a team to be scored.

** Kids Club will be available – for kids between the ages of 2 and 8 from 5:45pm to 7:45pm on Saturday evening.  Baby sitting will be provided as well as dinner.  Meet in the play yard, if inclement weather, meet downstairs in the clubhouse.   RSVP online or via the reservation hotline.  For more information, contact Erin Clark

FORM your TEAM for 4th of July

There are 4 main competitions over the course of the long weekend, beginning on Thursday evening and ending Sunday afternoon.  Here’s what you need to do:

1.  Form your team, come up with a name and note the team criteria

2.  Plan who from your team will represent at the various competitions (the full team is not required to be at every event, though we’d love it if they are)

3.  Once you organize your team, make sure at every event they check in with the official SCORER.

COMPETITION 1:  Thursday, 8:00pm, B-I-N-G-O at the clubhouse

COMPETITION 2: Friday, 1:30pm, Poker Run in the Cove  (non-motorized boats only)

COMPETITION 3:  Saturday, 1:30pm, Games at the Beach – Minute to Win It Games, Sand Castle Contests

COMPETITION 4:  Sunday, 12:00pm, Final Fun & Games & Award Ceremonies at the clubhouse

Team Criteria

As the 4th of July is a traditional club-wide social event, this year’s activities are focused on building our community by encouraging participants to mix and mingle with new faces.   Extra points will be awarded to teams to foster variety among the team members as follows…

- Diversity of Age:  at least one member who is 6 or under and at least one member who is 60 or over – 10 POINTS

- Diversity of Membership length:  at least one member who has joined since Jan 1 2009 and at least one member who joined prior to 1995 – 20 POINTS

- Diversity of Fleets – 5 points per fleet represented, such that at least one member of the team officially belongs to the fleet, for each of the following fleets (Opti, Laser, Motorboat, Snipe, Y-Flyer, Thistle, Viking) – up to 35 POINTS 

- Teams size should be between 6 to 20 people (note teams should have representation at every event but not all team members HAVE to participate in each event)

TEAMS must register at each event with the official SCORER
